Join us for our annual Alumni Author Breakfast featuring Padma Venkatraman M.A. ’94, Ph.D. ‘01. She is the author of the award-winning middle grade fiction book, The Bridge Home. Her latest middle grade book, Born Behind Bars, comes out in September, and tells the story of a boy who’s unexpectedly released into the world after spending his whole life in jail with his mother. Before she became a novelist, Padma acted as chief scientist on research vessels, directed a school in England and led diversity efforts at a university. Breakfast provided. Following her book talk, Padma will be available to sign copies of her books. The W&M Bookstore will be selling copies on site at a customer discount. Event is free and open to all!
